Our 43rd annual North Shore Jazz Fest will be on Saturday, January 18, 2020.

Showcasing many of Illinois’ finest Junior and Senior High Jazz ensembles.  This year will feature an evening performance by Doug Beach and the Elmhurst College Jazz Band, the Undergraduate College winner in the large jazz ensemble category.   Featuring Byron Stripling as guest soloist!

Band Director Invitation

Dear Band Director:

On behalf of the Glenbrook South Instrumental League, we cordially invite you and your jazz students to participate in the 43rd Annual North Shore Jazz Festival. Our festival will be held on Saturday, January 18th, 2020 at Glenbrook South High School in Glenview, Illinois.

The Jazz Fest will start at 7:50 AM and finish at 6:15 PM. The Evening Concert will begin at 6:35 PM and the Awards Ceremony (announcing the top three ensembles in each class) will begin at 7:15 PM.

Registration fees are $175 for one ensemble, $275 for two ensembles, $375 for three, and $475 for four and so forth. This fee also allows the members of each ensemble, its directors, and four chaperones to attend the entire festival at no extra charge. For all others attending the festival, there will be a charge of $12 per adult and $8 per senior citizen or child under 12. We are offering a $30 family package, which entitles an entire family to attend the whole day’s festivities for one fee.

Please complete the online registration form as soon as possible. All payments must be post marked by Wednesday, December 11th, 2019.

About Jazz Fest

Showcasing some of the finest young jazz musicians and guest performers.  We look forward to everyone being a part of this fun day, whether you’re preforming or coming to enjoy great music.

40th Annual Jazz FestDate: Saturday, January 18, 2020

Location: Glenbrook South High School in Glenview, Illinois

    • Hours: 7:45 am to 8:00 pm
    • Over 70 band performances throughout the day.
    • Lunchtime and evening concerts on the Auditorium stage by professional musicians.

Jazz Fest has a long history of showcasing Illinois’ jazz ensembles.  Bands perform throughout the day and, after each session, join an adjudicator for a private clinic.   Results of the competition will be announced at the Awards Ceremony, following an evening concert by  professional musicians.  Check our site regularly for the latest news on participating bands and guest performers.

Admission: $12 per adult and $8 per senior citizen or child under 12. A $30 family package enables the whole family to attend for one low fee.  Purchase tickets at the door to any performance venue.

Concessions/T-Shirts: The Jazz Café and Bake Sale is located in the main cafeteria and will be selling food throughout the day. T-shirts celebrating the 2020 North Shore Jazz Fest and all participating bands will be available for purchase near the Auditorium entrance.

The North Shore Jazz Fest is a collaborative effort of many generous businesses and individuals in our community. We are forever grateful to the parents of our band students who are the heart and soul of this event. We look forward to seeing you for our 43rd year and furthering a lifelong love of Jazz among these wonderful young musicians.
